Rice Crispy Treats

These browned butter Rice Krispie treats are a simple twist on a classic snack. They’re quick and easy to make with just 3 simple ingredients. Soft, chewy, and perfectly gooey, these treats are ideal for a quick afternoon snack, a last-minute party dessert, or anytime you’re craving something nostalgic.

Ingredients

1 cup salted butter

20 oz mini marshmallows

10 cups crispy rice cereal

Instructions

  • In a large stock pot, melt the butter over medium heat, stirring constantly. After a few minutes, the butter will begin to foam and brown. As soon as you see brown flecks forming, remove the pot from the heat.

  • Immediately, add the mini marshmallows to the hot browned butter. Stir until the marshmallows begin to melt and get puffy.

  • Add half of the crispy rice cereal and stir until coated. Then add the remaining cereal and gently stir until everything is evenly combined.

  • Spray a 9×13-inch pan with non-stick cooking spray. Transfer the mixture into the pan and press it down using a fork.
Tip: Spraying the fork with non-stick cooking spray helps prevent sticking.

  • Let the treats cool completely, then cut into squares and enjoy!
